Honda is issuing a recall of certain 2010 Accord Crosstour models in order to inspect and replace a potentially defective airbag (front passenger). According to Honda, the recall will cover about 3,340 units in total, some 700 of which are in Canada.
Recent testing revealed that there is a potential problem with the airbag modules not meeting the requirements for the protection of an unbelted, child test dummy in the front seats. Honda says that no incidents have been reported, but recommends that children under the age of 12 be properly restrained in the vehicle’s rear seat. Honda will notify affected customers by mail but owners can also call their dealer or Honda’s customer relations department at 1-888-946-6329.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a motor vehicle accident due to a defective airbag or other defective product, please contact a lawyer or auto accident lawyer to explore your options and discuss the possibility of filing a product liability lawsuit.
