Craig Goldenfarb, P.A., Donates Bulletproof Vests to High School Students
On a recent summer's day, attorney Craig Goldenfarb was attending his daughter's soccer game when he had a chance encounter with another parent, a swat team officer with the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department. In the ensuing conversation, he learned something very worrisome that prompted him to take quick action: Students participating in the Palm Beach Gardens Police Explorer Program had been going on “ride-alongs” with police officers without proper protection.
“I was shocked,” Goldenfarb says in retrospect. While police officers responding to incidents in Palm Beach County wear bulletproof vests as a matter of standard practice, he explains, “these kids riding along with police officers on real police calls were not equipped with vests.”
Hearing the news, Goldenfarb decided to contact the police department to help. Sergeant Jack Schnurr welcomed the offer and worked with Goldenfarb to obtain the vests.
Chartered through the Boy Scouts of America, Palm Beach Gardens Police Explorer is a program for young men and women that focuses on leadership, character development and community involvement.
Parents, police officers and students of Palm Beach are thankful to Mr. Goldenfarb for his generous donation, as the Police Explorers can now be safe as they ride along with their police escorts.
As for Goldenfarb, he is just happy he could help to improve the safety of the young men and women in this valuable program. “I was delighted to be able to help these young men and women further their goals more safely,” he says.
